OPP Warn Augusta Residents to Lock Their Vehicles

Grenville County OPP want to remind residents of Augusta to make sure their vehicles are locked at all times after several reports of thefts from vehicles in the area.  OPP encourage vehicle owners to take a few simple precautions to prevent thefts from vehicles.  Here are some helpful tips and reminders:

  • Always roll up your vehicle’s windows and lock the doors.
  • If you have a garage, use it and lock the door as well as your vehicle.
  • Always park your vehicle in a well-lit area.
  • Never leave valuable objects or packages in full view. Put them in the trunk. Better yet, take them inside the residence.
  • Record serial #’s from your electronic devices such as your GPS, this information is helpful to police.
