• The application period runs from September until November 30th at 4:30 p.m.

• Applications must be received by drop-off, email, or mail.

• Organizations, groups, or individuals that provide a service, program, activity, or event that benefits Augusta Township residents.

• Projects that demonstrate clear goals, expected outcomes, and community involvement.

• Applicants who can show demonstrated need for the funding.

• Municipal donations will not be given to the following:

  • Individuals.

  • Organizations aligned with any political party, or to support programs or services which are political in nature.

  • Activities benefiting executive or board members only.

  • Activities deemed to be discriminatory, contrary to municipal policies and values, or unlawful.

  • Recipients of any other grants, funds, or subsidies from the Township of Augusta.

• Number of Township of Augusta residents involved (if applicable).

• How the funds will be utilized and how they will benefit Augusta Township residents.

• Demonstrated need for the service, activity, project, program, or event in the community.

• Clear goals and expected outcomes.

• Level of community involvement and number of local volunteers.

• Community response to the event, program, activity.

• The amount/type of contribution being requested.

• Whether or not previous donations have already been received.

• Applicants will be advised of the scheduled meeting date where the applications will be reviewed.

• Applicants will be notified of the results within 10 days of the Council decision.

• Applicants must recognize Augusta Township (for example, a banner or sign at their event or social media posts before/after the event) incorporating the Township’s logo in recognition of the donation.

• Donations are not to be considered a commitment to providing donations in future years.

• Ineligible Use of Funding:

  • Retroactively for events that have already occurred.

  • Flow-through funding (where the intent is to redistribute the funding to others).

Municipal Donation Policy

Under By-Law 3628-2023, private road associations in the Township of Augusta may apply for financial assistance to help offset eligible maintenance costs.

To qualify:

• The road must be maintained by an Association representing at least two-thirds (2/3) of benefiting property owners.

• Applications must be signed by the Association’s authorized representative and submitted to the Township Treasurer.

• The Treasurer determines eligibility.

The grant covers eligible costs incurred between October 1 and September 30 of the application year and must be submitted by September 30 annually.

Eligible expenses may include snow plowing, grading, gravel, dust control, tree trimming/removal, weed control, grass cutting, drainage work, construction, and resurfacing.

Grants are paid as a lump sum, calculated per linear metre (one-way), and are awarded at the discretion of Council. Funding is not guaranteed and may be changed or discontinued at any time.
