BY-LAW NUMBER 2883
A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE ACCEPTANCE OF CERTAIN DEEDS OF LAND
AND TO ASSUME AND DEDICATE THE SAID LANDS FOR ROAD PURPOSES
WHEREAS the Municipal Act 2001, SO 2001, Chapter 25, Section 8 gives the municipality
the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its
authority under this act;
AND WHEREAS numerous parcels of land have been deeded to the Corporation of the
Township of Augusta for road widening purposes as a condition of the granting of a
severance by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Consent Granting Authority.
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to accept these said parcels of land to assume and
dedicate them for road purposes.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the lands listed and described in the attached Schedule “A” of this by-law are
accepted by the Corporation of the Township of Augusta.
2. That the said lands be and they are hereby assumed by the Corporation of the
Township of Augusta.
3. That the said lands be and they are hereby dedicated as part of the Township of
Augusta for the road on which they are situated as listed in the herein attached
aforementioned Schedule “A”.
Read a first and second time this 24th day of May 2011.
Read a third time and passed this 24th day of May 2011.
