BEING A BY -LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE ACCEPTANCE OF A CERTAIN DEED OF
LAND AND TO ASSUME AND DEDICATE THE SAID LAND FOR ROAD PURPOSES
IN THE COUNTY OF GRENVILLE ON SARAH STREET, IN MAITLAND, AND BEING
LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS PART UNNUMBERED LOT N/S KING ST, PLAN 9
MAITLAND; PART LOT 31, CONCESSION 1 AUGUSTA; PART UNNUMBERED LOT
S OF G.T. RAILWAY AND N/S SARAH ST, PLAN 9 MAITLAND, BEING PTS 2 AND 3
ON PLAN 15R9686; AUGUSTA, COUNTY OF GRENVILLE, BEING PART OF PIN
68183-0383;
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of Section 8 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 2001, c.
25, as amended, the Council of every municipality has the capacity, rights, powers and
privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its authority under this or any
other act;
AND WHEREAS the land located in the Township of Augusta, and described as:
(i.) Part of Unnumbered Lot north of King St., Plan 9, Maitland; Part Lot 31
Concession 1, Augusta; Part Unnumbered Lot south of G.T. Railway,
being Part 3 on Plan 15R9686; Township of Augusta, County of Grenville
being Part of PIN 68183-0383(L T).
has been conveyed to The Corporation of the Township of Augusta by Instrument
GC 149537 registered on September 9, 1998 for the purposes of widening Sarah Street,
Maitland.
AND WHEREAS the land located in the Township of Augusta as:
(ii.) Part Unnumbered Lot south of the G.T. Railway, Plan 9, Village of
Maitland, being Part 2 on Plan 15R9686; Township of Augusta, County of
Grenville, being Part of PIN 68183-0383 (L T)
has been conveyed to The Corporation of the Township of Augusta by Instrument
GC149642 registered on September 16, 1998 for the purposes of widening Sarah
Street, Maitland.
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to accept these parcels of land and to assume
and dedicate them for road purposes;
NOW THEREFORE, according to Section 11(1) and 27(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.
2001, c. 25, as amended, the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Augusta
hereby enacts as follows:
1. That the land described in paragraph (i.) and (ii.) of this by-law, situate, lying an
being in the County of Grenville are accepted by The Corporation of the
Township of Augusta.
2. That the said lands be and are hereby assumed by The Corporation of the
Township of Augusta.
3. That the said lands be and are hereby dedicated as part of the road system of
The Corporation of the Township of Augusta, and form part of the road that they
abut, commonly known as Sarah Street, Maitland.
4. That this By-law shall come into force and effect upon the date of the final
passing thereof.
