BY-LAW NUMBER 3340-2017
BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH
HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO AS
REPRESENTED BY THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PROVINCE
OF ONTARIO- ONTARIO MUNICIPAL COMMUTER CYCLING PROGRAM- 2017-
2018
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to authorize the execution of an Agreement with Her
Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Ontario as represented by the Minister of
Transportation for the Province of Ontario for funding under the dedicated Ontario
Municipal Commuter Cycling Program (OMCC).
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the Mayor, CAO/Treasurer are hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the
TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA a Transfer Payment Agreement (Agreement) with Her
Majesty the Queen In right of the Province of Ontario as represented by the Minister of
Transportation for the Province of Ontario for 2017-18 funding under the OMCC.
THAT the Mayor and CAO/Treasurer have the delegation of authority to execute any and
all required documentation on behalf of the TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA as required by
the OMCC for 2017-18.
THAT the TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA commits to providing funding equivalent in
2017-18 to twenty percent of 2017-18 funding provided to the TOWNSHIP OF
AUGUSTA under the OMCC.
THAT the TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA commits to implementing projects and spending
OMCC 2017-18 funding in accordance with all provisions specified in the Agreement.
THAT the TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA commits to spending OMCC 2017-18 funding only
on the following approved projects:
a. Plan and develop business case for commuter cycling in Augusta Township.
b. Implement Stage 1 of commuter cycling in Augusta, County Road 2 capital works.
THAT the TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA commits that it will obtain all required approvals
for each project prior to use of OMCC funding.
