3358-2018 Notification to Neighbouring Municipalities of Streight Drain Maintenance
BEING A BY-LAW TO NOTIFY THE NEIGHBOURING MUNICIPALITIES, THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH GRENVILLE AND THE VILLAGE OF MERRICKVILLE-WOLFORD, THAT DRAINAGE MAINTENANCE WORKS ARE BEING COMPLETED PURSUANT TO THE DRAINAGE ACT ON THE STREIGHT MUNICIPAL DRAIN AND THAT A PORTION OF THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MAINTENANCE REPAIRS WILL BE ASSESSED TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH GRENVILLE AND THE VILLAGE OF MERRICKVILLE-WOLFORD

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA
BY-LAW NUMBER 3358-2018
BEING a by-law to notify the neighbouring municipalities, the Township of North
Grenville and the Village of Merrickville-Wolford, that drainage maintenance Works are
being completed pursuant to the Drainage Act on the Streight Municipal Drain and that a portion of the costs associated with the maintenance repairs will be assessed to the
Municipality of the Township of North Grenville and the Village of Merrickville-Wolford;
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta notifies the
Township of North Grenville and the Village of Merrickville-Wolford of required
maintenance works along the Streight Municipal Drain which includes a full-length
bottom-only cleanout, minor brushing and clearing, and culvert flushing.
AND WHEREAS the current conditions of the Streight Municipal Drain will be restored to
the design details outlined by the authorizing Engineers Report, A.J Graham Engineering
Consultants Ltd. March 13th, 1974, revised July 16, 1974.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta enacts
as follows:
1. That the total estimated cost of the Works is $40,000, with the costs of such
maintenance being assessed to the landowners and municipalities as specified
within Annex “D”- Schedule of Assessment for Augusta Township, North
Grenville Township (formerly Oxford Township), and the Village of Merrickville-Wolford
(formerly Wolford Township).
2. Where any by-law, passed prior to this by-law, conflicts with the terms of this bylaw,
this by-law shall prevail.
3. That this by-law comes into force on the day it is passed.
