BY-LAW NO. 3367-2018
BEING A BY-LAW TO NAME A LOCAL MUNICIPAL ROAD IN THE
TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA

WHEREAS Section 8 of the Municipal Act, SO 2001, provides that a municipality has the
capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising it
authority under this or any other Act and;

WHEREAS Section 27 of Municipal Act, SO 2001, provides that a municipality may pass
by-laws in respect of a highway if it has jurisdiction over the highway and;

WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to provide distinct and separate addresses which are
clearly identifiable to a specific municipality for emergency response requirements and;

WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta has caused a
notice of the intent to name an unnamed road at a meeting held on June 11, 2018 and
through a notice on the website and;

WHEREAS residents, being those actually having property interest on the road were
informed of the name change and;

WHEREAS no one claims to be adversely affected by the naming of the municipal road;

NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
AUGUSTA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. The road located at Lot 23, Concession 3 is hereby named Melbourne Lane.

2. This By-Law shall be registered in the Land Registry Office, Prescott, Ontario.

3. That this by-law is in full force and effect as of date of passing.

READ a first time and second time this 26 day of June, 2018.

READ a third time and passed this 26 day of June, 2018.
