BY -LAW NO. 3369-2018
BEING A BY-LAW TO RE-NAME A LOCAL MUNICIPAL ROAD IN
THE TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA
WHEREAS Section 8 of the Municipal Act, SO 2001, provides that a municipality has the
capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising it
authority under this or any other Act and;
WHEREAS Section 27 of Municipal Act, SO 2001, provides that a municipality may pass
by-laws in respect of a highway if it has jurisdiction over the highway and;
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to provide distinct and separate addresses which are
clearly identifiable to a specific municipality for emergency response requirements and;
WHEREAS residents, being those actually having property interest on the road were
informed of the name change and;
WHEREAS no one claims to be adversely affected by the re-naming of the municipal road;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
AUGUSTA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The portion of road extending County Road 15, Augusta Township south from
Highway 401 to County Road 2, Augusta Township be named County Road 15.
2. This By-Law shall be registered in the Land Registry Office, Prescott, Ontario.
3. That this by-law is in full force and effect as of date of passing.
