BY-LAW NUMBER 3557-2022
BEING A BY-LAW TO NAME A LOCAL MUNICIPAL ROAD IN THE
TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA
WHEREAS Section 9 of the Municipal Act, SO 2001, provides that a municipality has the
capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising
it authority under this or any other Act; and
WHEREAS Section 27 of Municipal Act, SO 2001, provides that a municipality may pass
by-laws in respect of a highway if it has jurisdiction over the highway; and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to provide distinct and separate addresses which are
clearly identifiable to a specific municipality for emergency response requirements; and
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta has caused a notice
of the intent to name an unnamed road on the agenda for a meeting held on March 14,
2022; and
WHEREAS there are no residents having property interest on the road; and
WHEREAS no one claims to be adversely affected by the naming of the municipal road;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
AUGUSTA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the .3 KM dead end road located South of Algonquin Road on Concession 5 Lot
19 is hereby named Sayeau Road.
2. THAT this by-law is in full force and effect as of date of passing.
Read a first, second, and third time and finally passed this 14 day of March, 2022.
