BY-LAW NUMBER 3561 -2022
BEING A BY-LAW TO APPOINT AN INTERIM TREASURER
WHEREAS Section 286(1) of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 2001, as amended,
provides that Council of every municipality shall appoint a Treasurer.
AND WHEREAS by-law 3540-2021 appointing an Interim Treasurer shall expire on
April 30, 2022;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Augusta wishes to continue to
engage the services of Mark McDonald as Interim Treasurer:
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta
enacts as follows:
1. THAT Mark McDonald’s contract as Interim Treasurer for the Corporation
of the Township of Augusta be extended for six months at which time he
shall return to the position of Deputy Treasurer unless appointed to the
position of Treasurer by municipal by-law.
2. THAT the Interim Treasurer shall perform the statutory duties of the
treasurer under the Municipal Act and other legislation and such other
duties as may be assigned by Council.
3. THAT By-Law 3540-2021 and all other by-laws inconsistent herewith are
hereby repealed.
4. THAT this by-law come into full force and effect as of date of passing.
