Page 1 Of 11 The Corporation Of The Township Of Augusta By-law No. 2399 To Prescribe Standards For The Maintenance And Occupancy Of Residential Rental Properties. ************************************************************************************************************ Whereasthecouncilofthecorporationofthetownshipofaugustaisempoweredbysection 15.1ofthebuildingcodeact,1992,asamended,topassaby-lawforprescribingstandardsfor Themaintenanceandoccupancyofresidentialrentalpropertywithinthemunicipality,forprohibiting Theuseofpropertythatdoesnotconformtothestandards,andforrequiringpropertythatdoesnot Conform To Thestandardsto Be Repaired And Maintained To Conform To Thestandards; Andwhereastheofficialplanofthemunicipalityincludesprovisionsrelating To Property Conditions; Nowthereforethecouncilofthecorporationofthe Township Of Augusta Enacts As Follows: Short Title 1.this By-law May Be Cited As Theproperty Standards By-law. Interpretation 2.in This By-law: (a)”accessorybuilding”meansabuildingorstructure,theuseofwhichisincidentaltotheuse Of A Property And Which Is Located In Theyardaround A Building; (b)“basement”meansthatportion Of A Building Between Two Floor Levels Which Is Partly Undergroundbutwhichhasatleast One Half Of Its Height, From Finished Floor To Finished Ceiling,abovetheadjacentfinishedgradeleveladjacenttotheexteriorwallsofthebuilding; (c)”building”meansacombinationofmaterials To Form A Construction That Is Adapted Or Readilycapableofbeingadaptedtopermanentorcontinuousoccupancyforresidential, Commercial,institutional,orindustrialuses,butshallnotbedeemedtoincludeastructure; (d)”buildingcode”meanstheontariobuildingcodeasregulatedundersection34ofthe Building Code Act, R.s.o. 1992, C. 23, As…
