The Corporation Of The Township Of Augusta By-law Number2492 Beinga By-law Toauthorize Voting By Mail For The 2003 Municipal Election And Subsequent Years And The Entering Into Of An Agreement With Canada Post To Provide Vote By Mail Services Whereassection 12(1)(b)of Themunicipal Elections Act, 1996states That A Clerk Who Is Responsible For Conducting An Election May Provide For Any Matter Or Procedure That Isin The Clerk’s Opinion, Is Necessary Or Desirable For Conducting The Election Andwhereassection 42 Of Themunicipal Elections Act, 1996provides That A Municipalcouncil May Pass A By-law Authorizing An Alternative Voting Method; And Whereascouncil And The Clerk Deemit Appropriate And In The Public Interest To Conduct The Municipalelection Using A Vote By Mail Method And To Contract With Canada Post To Provide Election Services; Now Thereforethe Council Of The Corporation Of Thetownship Of Augusta Hereby Enacts As Follows: 1.the Alternative Voting…
