  • Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)

  • Public Works Department

These essential services work collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

The Township’s Municipal Emergency Plan outlines roles and actions for officials during major emergencies, which may be natural, human-caused, or technological in nature. These events can impact health, safety, property, the environment, and critical infrastructure.

Under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, all municipalities must have an Emergency Management Program and a designated Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC). Augusta’s Acting CEMC can be reached at 613-925-4231 ext. 201.

An effective emergency management program calls on the residents of the municipality to be prepared to look after themselves and their families for up to 72 HOURS. Your PREPAREDNESS PLAN identifies you and your family’s needs, remembering that SENIORS may have additional needs. Do not forget about your PETS. Members of the FARMING community have to think about their livestock as well as their families.

  • Widespread power outages
  • Chemical spills (fixed site or during transport)
  • Major transportation accidents (road, rail, marine)
  • Agricultural emergencies (livestock, crops)
