Burn Permits
Burn Permits
As per Township By-Law 3583-2022, a permit is required for ALL open-air fires each calendar year. This applies to all campfires, chimineas, brush piles, burn drums, incinerators, agricultural burns etc.
Registered landowners can obtain their FREE burn permit online on the Augusta Fire Rescue Burn Permit website.
For special events or campground permits, please call Augusta Fire Rescue Station 1 at 613-925-4231 ext 202.
NOTE: Occasionally there is a glitch with the Burn Permit site if you received a paper permit the year previously. Should this happen, please call the Protective Services and Safety Coordinator at 613-925-4231 ext. 202.

Fire Station Locations
The Township operates two fire stations to provide effective emergency services, fire prevention, and public safety education to residents. These stations are strategically located to serve all areas of the municipality.
Fire Rescue Station #1
Location: 1022 County Road 15
Maitland, ON K0E 1P0
Fire Station 1 is the Township's primary fire services location. It is staffed full-time by the Manager of Protective Services, Municipal Enforcement Officer, and Protective Services and Safety Coordinator. This station supports day-to-day operations, emergency coordination, and administrative functions for the Protective Services Department.

Fire Rescue Station #2

Fire Station 2 is operated by a team of trained on-call firefighters who respond to emergencies in all of Augusta Township and surrounding areas. The station delivers the same fire protection, medical response, and prevention services as Station 1.
This station provides:
- Fire and emergency response
- Fire prevention and inspection services
- Emergency medical services (EMS)
- Public safety education

Tanker Shuttle Insurance Rates
Augusta Fire Rescue is Tanker Shuttle Service Certified. As such, Augusta residents may be eligible for lower fire insurance rates if they live within 8 to 10 kilometers of Station #1 in Maitland or Station #2 in North Augusta (see map below).
Residents who live within 5 km of an approved water supply (see map below) may also qualify for a discount.
Contact your insurance agent for more information. They may request that you print this Tanker Shuttle Service Certificate for their records.

Smoke and carbon monoxide combination alarms can be purchased at the Township Office in Maynard or at Station 1 in Maitland.

Having working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in your home is critical for early warning in an emergency — and required by law in all residences.

On-call Firefighters
On-call firefighters play an important role in keeping the Township of Augusta safe. They respond to emergencies, help protect property, and provide public education and first aid—often in demanding and unpredictable situations.
