On February 1, 2023, the Township of Augusta had the pleasure of honouring one of their own for 50 years of service to the Township. Donald Throop began his tenure with the Township on February 1, 1973, in the Public Works Department and continues to provide support on a part-time basis.
Honouring Mr. Throop at the celebration were MPP Steve Clark who presented Mr. Throop with a congratulatory certificate as MPP and a certificate from Municipal Affairs and Housing.
The Honourable Michael Barrett forwarded a congratulatory certificate to Mr. Throop which was presented by Public Works Manager Brad Thake.
Deputy Mayor Wynands also presented Mr. Throop with a congratulatory certificate on behalf of the Township of Augusta.
Also joining the celebration was Mr. Throop’s wife of 48 years, Grace.
