Introducing Our New CAO
The Township of Augusta is pleased to announce the addition of Shannon Geraghty as the new Chief Administrative Office effective May 1, 2023. Mr. Geraghty takes over the role from Steve McDonald who retired on April 28, 2023, after coming out of retirement to assist the Township in transitioning through a municipal election, budget, and recruiting for a new CAO.
Mr. Geraghty has a Diploma is Business Administration – Accounting from St. Lawrence College, Tax Administration Diploma from Seneca College, a Master Certificate in Municipal Leadership from York University, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Western University.
Mr. Geraghty brings with him 20 plus years of municipal experience working for the City of Brockville, and most recently the Municipality of South Dundas for 15 years. Mr. Geraghty is committed to joining the Augusta team and supporting a culture of engagement, innovation, and accountability. In addition to having the ability to build trust and compassion, Shannon brings a leadership style that will foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promote diversity and inclusiveness, and the proven ability to build strong relationships with Council, staff, and the residents of Augusta Township.
