On July 27 & 28 the Maynard Recreation Facility hosted its first Pickleball Tournament. The Tournament was named the Community of Opportunity Pickleball event.
Maynard hosted 172 participants, along with their family and friends, from across Ontario, and NY State. They continued to hear from attendees how amazed they were that such a small community could have the facilities we have! ALL proceeds, which are estimated to be in excess of $8,000, will go towards covering ongoing maintenance/improvements planned for the existing rink, ballfields, and courts. The committee’s focus is to continue to enhance and promote active living in our community.
This event was only possible by a host of volunteers and sponsors. The sponsors are listed below and the committee would like to thank them all for their support. The weather was perfect and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive so they are considering making this an annual event.
