agri-sector business of the year winners spot on hoof trimming

2024 Agri-Sector Business of the Year Award: Spot On Hoof Trimming
Alain Pitre

Spot On Hoof Trimming, a 5 year old business originally founded in Cobden and Shawville and now settled in the Maynard area, supplies local and non-local farmers with hoof care for dairy, beef and homestead cattle.  The business works with farmers, veterinary staff, and nutritionists to provide sound, healthy feet so cattle can be as productive as they can be.  As one of the few still providing this service, owner Alain Pitre spends hours away from his family in order to help others.  This became particularly true during the pandemic when many cattle owners were unable to find a trimmer to maintain or fix lameness issues.  He is passionate about the cattle industry and feels it is important to keep the dairy and beef industry going.
