AUGUSTA APPOINTS NEW CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Maynard, Ontario – Mayor Jeff Shaver and Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Shannon Geraghty to the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the Township of Augusta, effective May 1st, 2023.
Mr. Geraghty brings 20 years of municipal experience, with the last eight as the CAO of the Municipality of South Dundas in the United Counties of Stormont Dundas and Glengarry.
Shannon has held positions of increasing responsibility during his municipal career, in the areas of finance, and administration.
South Dundas shares many similarities to Augusta, both are lower tier municipalities that are predominantly rural with small urban communities.
Mayor Shaver stated; “We welcome Shannon to the Township of Augusta and look forward to the benefit of Shannon’s administrative, and people skills in providing leadership to our staff and moving forward with the implementation of Council’s strategic priorities.”
In accepting the position, Mr. Geraghty noted, “Augusta’s potential to thrive in so many areas is incredible. I am excited to work with Council and the staff team as I commence the next chapter of my career in Augusta.”
