Make the most of winter in Augusta Township by visiting our outdoor skating rinks, ideal for public skating, hockey, and enjoying time outdoors with family and friends. Our rinks are maintained regularly throughout the winter season, weather permitting, to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
Augusta Township offers one outdoor rink that is available year-round, located in Maynard, along with two additional seasonal rinks that operate during the winter months. Whether you’re working on your slapshot or heading out for a casual skate, there’s a space for everyone. For safety, we strongly encourage all users to wear appropriate protective equipment while on the ice.
Rink availability is weather-dependent. Please respect all posted signage and stay off the ice when “closed” signs are in place to allow staff and volunteers to properly maintain the surface.
A special thank you to the Augusta Fire Rescue Department for their help in flooding the rinks and all the volunteers who help support and maintain our rinks each season, making them a valued part of our community.

Maynard Outdoor Rink
Located in the heart of the Maynard community, the Maynard Outdoor Rink provides a versatile recreational space for residents of all ages. This popular community hub is open year-round and supports a variety of activities throughout the seasons.
During the winter months, the rink is maintained as an outdoor ice surface for skating and hockey. In the warmer seasons, the space can be used for ball hockey, basketball, and other recreational activities, making it a well-used gathering place for families and youth.

North Augusta Outdoor Rink
Located in the heart of North Augusta, this seasonal outdoor rink is installed and maintained each winter by the North Augusta Recreation Committee. It serves as a valued gathering place for residents and visitors to enjoy outdoor recreation during the colder months.
Throughout the winter season, the rink provides a maintained ice surface for public skating and hockey, weather permitting. The Recreation Committee works diligently to prepare and care for the ice, helping to create a safe and enjoyable space for families, youth, and community members to stay active and connect outdoors.
Rink availability is dependent on weather and ice conditions. Residents are encouraged to follow posted signage and respect closures to allow for proper maintenance.

Cedar Street Outdoor Rink
Located in the Maitland neighbourhood, the Cedar Street Outdoor Rink is set up each winter to provide a safe and fun space for residents of all ages. Managed by the community and Township staff, it’s a popular spot for families and youth to enjoy outdoor winter activities.
During the winter months, the rink is maintained as an ice surface for public skating and hockey. Weather permitting, it offers a great place to stay active and socialize outdoors. Residents are encouraged to follow posted signage and respect rink closures to allow for proper maintenance.
