BY-LAW NUMBER 3262-2016
BEING A BY-LAW TO APPOINT THE CLERK
A PERSON AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES
WHEREAS pursuant to section 11 (2) of the Marriage Act, R.S.O. 1990, the Honourable
Minister of Government Services may appoint the Clerk of a local municipality as a person
authorized to issue marriage licences in and for the township;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta deems it
expedient for the public convenience that the Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of
Augusta be appointed in such capacity;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the
Township of Augusta enacts as follows:
1. The corporation of the Township of Augusta be and it is hereby authorized to
make application to the Honourable Minister of Government Services to have
Annette Simonian, the Clerk of The Corporation of the Township of Augusta
appointed as a person authorized to issue marriage licences in and for the
Corporation of the Township of Augusta
2. The Mayor and the Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and direct to do all
such things and execute all such documents as may be necessary for the
completion and implementation of the said appointment.
3. All by-laws or parts of by-laws or motions heretofore passed and being
inconsistent with the provisions hereof, are hereby repealed.
