The Municipal Act grants Council the authority to pass certain By-Laws to govern affairs of the municipality. A By-Law is the written voice of Council and addresses issues and concerns of the local community.
The Council of the Township of Augusta appoints Enforcement Officer(s) with the authority to enforce By-Laws passed in the Township as per By-Laws 3526-2021, and 3676-2024.
Augusta Township is currently in the process of hiring a Municipal Enforcement Officer. Fire Chief Rob Bowman however, is the Manager of By-Law Enforcement, and is responding to By-Law complaints in the interim.
By-Law Enforcement Officer(s) follow the Township’s By-Law Infractions & Enforcement Policy when responding to complaints lodged by residents of the Township and investigate any incidents in order to determine if a violation has taken place. If a violation is noted, the Enforcement Officer follows the procedure established in relation to that particular By-Law in order to rectify the situation.
If you have By-Law related questions or complaints, you can reach Chief Bowman via email or by phone at 613-925-4231 x 201.
NOTE: This page is currently under construction to include older (still relevant) By-Laws.
