Solar Eclipse Today

SOLAR ECLIPSE TODAY

Just a reminder that Augusta Township is under the path of totality (a narrow path approximately 100-115 km wide) where the sun appears to be completely covered by the moon for a short period of time today.

In Augusta, the view of the eclipse will start around 2:00 pm and end around 4:30 pm with total darkness being reached at 3:24 pm and lasting 2 minutes.

We would like to remind residents to not look directly at the eclipse as it can cause damage to your eyes.

This is the first total solar eclipse visible from parts of Southern Ontario since 1925. The next one isn’t expected to happen again until 2099. Enjoy!
